Dr. Kantz has over thirty years of chemistry and polymer physics research experience with Monsanto Research (Mound Laboratory), Shell Development Corp., and Congoleum Corp. He was the Director of Research & Development at Ferro Advanced Composites in Los Angeles, CA and Technical Director at M.C. Gill Corp. in El Monte, CA. He teaches Elementary, General and Organic Chemistry at El Camino College in Torrance, CA, Harbor College in Wilmington, CA. He has taught Organic and General Chemistry at UCLA Extension and General Chemistry at Fullerton College in Fullerton, CA.
In association with Consulting Engineers & Scientists, Inc. of Malvern PA, Dr. Kantz maintains a forensic science and engineering consulting practice in Long Beach where he investigates failures of materials and products and provides expert testimony for attorneys and insurance companies. His typical investigations involve workplace and consumer exposures to chemical and physical hazards, regulatory compliance, labels and warnings, products liability, and intellectual property. He earned a Master level certification in hazardous materials management (CHMM) from the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management. His professional society affiliations include: American Chemical Society, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Institute of Hazardous Materials Management, Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals, American Society for Testing and Materials, and American Society of Safety Engineers (Professional Member).
Dr. Kantz and his wife Dr. Kathie Kantz have five sons who have given them eleven grandchildren and two corgis.
